Hi All,
I did some analysis on cost effective table tennis blades, rubbers few days back. Posting here the same. They are mostly Chinese products listed on AliExpress

Blades:
5 Ply
Sanwei M8 (5 - 7 USD)
729 C-5 (10 USD)
Yinhe N9s (10 USD)
Yinhe Galaxy 896 (12 USD)
Yinhe Galaxy W6 (18 USD)

7Ply
DHS PG7 (20USD)

5 + 2
DHS Hurricane 301 (55 USD)

Rubbers:
Cheap 2 Piece a lot
Reactor Corbor (7 USD)
729 General (10 USD)
GLOBE 999T (10 USD)

FH:
DHS hurricane 3 Neo (16 USD)
729 - 08 (12 USD)

BH:
729 Focus Snipe 3 (11 USD)
Dawei Super power 2008 (10 USD)

I understand only inverted rubbers, not much experience with SP, LP.

Regards,
Tejas

Switching to Usenet style quotes... (obvious reasons)..

I tried these, didn't like them. The 896 was too vibration-y, the W6 was a little too heavy for me. I now use the M8 but before that I was using the N11 (not the new N11s which is more or less the same), I could get those for $10 and had a matched trio.

This last one is different from the others. I think it uses older technology, probably lightly vulcanized rubber. After about 3-4 years the topsheet actually starts to melt (it causes a mess if you have the bat stored with other bats, or in a racket case), and often the topsheet separates. It's slower, but very sticky. I decided it was too slow for me, BUT you should get one pair and stick it on a blade - this will be your emergency monsoon season bat, when the air is at 100% humidity and all other rubbers become useless.

Add to your $10/2 list Yinhe 9000. Also good (sometimes you can find it for $5 a sheet) is Yinhe Mercury 2 (this is a little livelier than the others).

The bottom one has a HUGE drawback. It's bloody heavy. Otherwise quite a few people who really like it. Have not tried Focus III Snipe myself but a lot of people like it.

If you're looking at $10 class rubbers there are a lot of them that are good. If you look around you might find AK47 red/yellow/blue in the same price range, usually it's 2-3 dollars more.

While reading the original post, the AK-47 came to mind, but you beat me to it .. I'm using the Blue and the Yellow variant, and I'll vouch of both ... Same, for the Focus 3 Snipe ...

As for low-cost Chinese blade, I have played-with, and recommend XVT Black Knight 7...

The Friendship C-5 is another blade, I play with, and recommend... It's in the All range ..Pretty good control.
