Looks like you've managed to implement a robot to emulate my serve! Short, weak, and goes into the net!

Haha, don't say that I'm pretty sure you are awesome.

Btw this is kinda like the first step of a long road, it's only the ball feeder part, also I already wrote the mobile app and the Arduino code to drive the motors, but all the hand-making stuff comes now.

Or you might find you suck at a certain style and are forced to change... I've gone from looping to a flatter topspin drive style. Shoulder feels a great deal better these days.

As well as easier on the body taking the ball early with a flatter hit seems to suit the ABS ball and traditional club level loopers hate it as they have less time to wind up. I am now able to give players a good game who I would have struggled against with the old celluloid ball. My favourite tactic which should also work well with short pips is to hit out wide to the FH followed by a flat hit down the line.

Are you young enough (below 14) to hope to become professional player? If so, you need to take coaching lessons with double inverted. After a several years training of basic technique you can switch to any style you like.

If not, you can play very unorthodox styles nd freaky equipments right now. But coaching will be very limited in usefulness.

One year of table tennis is almost nothing, so you did not lost much time.

I have played against somebody using spectol on forehand.. and back hand as well. He is a master of twiddling. But he uses his pips more on his FH ( about 90% )

A year ago, he never win against me in practice and tournament until he started training formally. He mastered the art of playing close to the table and timed his shots very well. This year, in my estimate, out of the last 8 games we played, I only got 1. I have a hard time beating him because of the unpredictable angles. He also visited Japan and won a bronze medal in a club tournament and top 8 in an open tournament.

If you want to progress, you should dedicate yourself learning how to use your tool properly and positioning yourself. A good coach will be a big help.
