In shock news: Butterfly tries to make a H3 clone, and somewhat succeeds. It's similar but also different.

I don't think it would have done to make something exactly like H3, because then why pay USD100 for it when you can just buy H3? I suppose, on the other hand, there's this "National" H3 that some people go ape over, spending far more than people would actually have to pay for Dignics 09C - people who were buying the "real" "National H3" would be the people to be tempted into buying the Dignics. The few people who've used it here will swear up and down it's nothing like the plain old commercial H3 you get from Eacheng.

Note that in the test she used PROVINCIAL H3 (the black was 40 degrees, with the blue sponge). I've no idea if this is similar to the white-label National H3 (let alone the "real" "National H3" you can only buy from secret sources for $150), but I suppose it's a good enough approximation, since a lot of pros and hobbyists with money to burn would be buying it and would appreciate the comparison.

One HUGE elephant in the room that wasn't addressed - boosting. Supposedly ALL serious, competitive users of H3 boost it, the ones at the highest levels boost it to "insane", "grade A burrito" levels. So a REAL comparison (even using Provincial H3) should have been against highly boosted H3. I suppose, even if Dignics 09C would prove just the equal of highly tacofied National H3, at least you don't have to go through the trouble of boosting it (and having to suffer through different states of boosting as it wears off).

I doubt legality of this DHS H3 product very much.
Again, we strongly suspect DHS of being unwilling to pay proper amount of fees to ITTF. Sorry.
