Blade: GiantDragon Kris2
FH: DHS H3 Neo
BH: Who Knows???
Found a "vintage" Butterfly pre-made with Wakaba D-13 rubbers on eBay. Just curious if anyone would have any clue how old it is?
I'm not interesting in buying it - just wondering how long these things have been around.
Cheers.

I actually owned one of these (with 1mm sponge!) that my nan bought me when at school. That would have been around 1981.

EDIT: The case didn't come with mine, just a plastic box. But that bat case looks about the same vintage.

Don't see blades of this (trapezoidal) shape any more, but they were common in the 1970s. I remember Klampar played with something with this head shape, despite Butterfly selling a blade with his name on it that didn't look anything like that.

"Wakaba" was a common rubber you'd find on shakehand premades, while the cheap Butterfly penhold blades used "Biriba". "Wakaba" is also a common girls' given name. I'd say this is post-1960s (there was a time when Butterfly only sold two rubbers - "D13", which was inverted, and "C4", which was pips out - "speciation" came afterwards, with Tempest and Sriver and whatnot).

Maybe an old Butterfly Surbec or Klampar. Can't remember for sure, but something from that era of table tennis. Somewhere I have an old catalog that might show it, don't know where I have that stuff filled away (in a box somewhere).

Surbek sounds about right. Or X-Star? Don't think I ever saw a Klampar of that shape (despite that's what Klampar himself was using.. ).

Had another thought. The rubber is BLACK. This probably means it's post-Tackiness, so it's probably no earlier than, what, 1976? 1977? Before that, pretty much all Butterfly rubbers were red (and possibly green or blue). It's also BLACK ON BOTH SIDES! So probably pre - 2 color rule.

This photo is highly annoying:

You can see a bigger version here:

All you can see is "99" so that's part of the name.. Bad photography.

Nice racket case, so it's probably higher end (though of course the case might've been bought separately):
