Hi guys,

I'm new here and i wanted to share my experience with you, and get your opinion and any tips.

I started table tennis maybe 2 years ago, i play once a week in a club and we have a table at work and i can play with a coworker.

I really enjoy the sport and i'm a beginner - intermediate player.

I started with a premade racket, was ok to learn. But the rubber wore off and it was time for a change.

I bought my first blade, rubber and glue. I choose an OFF- blade and tensor rubbers.

I always struggled with both setup. Consistency was low, close to the table play was hard.

I decided to try something different. I bought a palio R57 blade with chinese rubber. Palio The Way and CJ8000. Cheap and if i didn't liked it then it's not a big loose.

First time i tried it i was like: WOW! I love that! My forehand is consistent, i can hit with power without the fear of trowing the ball outside the table. Everything is linear. Backhand is not spectacular but it's ok.

I love the feeling when i hit the ball, i know immediately if something is off and i can correct my technique. I have a smile when i practice!

So i will keep this setup for a year, train myself and after that, when my technique is better i will try something else.

In my opinion the cheapest regular blade and set up is MUCH better than the most expensive pre-made.

Glad you are enjoying your new set up and are sharing with us.

I was in your shoes not too long time ago. I would advise you to invest in some coaching to improve footwork, timing and technique in general. Take class once a week maybe to start. Otherwise it is pretty much guaranteed that you will continue to have and develop bad habits and wonder why you loose to many players at the club even though you might be OK at work.

I play in a club with a coach once a week. First half is supervised practice and the second is matchs. I work on my technique and consistency, and the coach and other players give me their advices. My setup really help me focus on technique and shot accuracy, not speed (if you hit hard, there is speed). An i really enjoy it!

I have to admit i don't win many matchs, but it's really fun. And a humbling experience :D
