I know umpires always make players cut off the excess if the rubber extends beyond the edges of the blade.
But what about the other way. What of the rubber is too small such as if I had move the rubber from a compact blade on to a mid size blade ?

I am told that rubber should be within 2 mm from the edge . Is this true ?

I need an official answer because I do not want to go to a tournament & be told that I cannot use the racket.

Does anyone have experience being hassled by the umpire ? Because I know it had happened to few people I know

Thanks

The official ITTF Handbook for Match Umpires suggests that
- uncovered margins on the racket blade should be maximum of 2 mm inwards.

Be happy

Yes, 2mm is what our umpire generally use as well. It's a generally accepted guide though, not a rule.
