I think it's around 10 years since the introduction of Stiga NCT - Nano Carbon Technology. What is the verdict on this technology?

At time of release the "fog" of marketing hype clouds people's perspective. From a materials perspective, are there reasons to believe that the "nano carbon" makes these blades different from other 5/7 ply blades which are otherwise made from the same materials?

From a use/feel perspective, are they different?

Differ from all-wood / carbon composite, how?

I ask this as someone who uses Yinhe Nano Rosewood 50.

Cheers.

I have Stiga off nct,I find it only slightly faster and stiffer then off classic, nothing to write home about really. If you want a genuine power upgrade a carbon blade is much better with the option of carbon Next to core or under top ply.

Thanks for your reply, @dazzler. I am not really looking for a "faster" upgrade. More wondering if I should try a cheaper all wood alternative.

NCT (NR for yinhe) are significantly more expensive than other otherwise equivalent blades - e.g. 5 or 7 ply all wood.

NCT, I gather, was a bleeding edge technology at the time. Does it serve a purpose today? Have other carbon compositions made it obsolete?

Does it do anything?
