You are right indeed. DHS tables all are far beneath the ITTF technical standards as being sheeny as hell. A mirror-like glassy plastic is used for the top-coating in defiance to the T1 standards. We have had an expertise on some most played tables by means of electronic gloss meter, the resulting gloss on DHS surface came out 43% versus the maximum allowance of 15. Much like a mirror glass.
As for the gloss measurements on other tables, TIBHAR is the best for player's comfort vision, since using a really matt coating materials.

CHAPTER 4.7
- The playing surface of an ITTF approved table must have a dark colour, whose lightness
in the CIELAB system must not be more than 40% . The Equipment Committee may
tolerate lightness up to 44%, if the appearance and colour of the surface remains dark.
- The outer surface of the coating material must be matt, with a degree of gloss not more than 15 (60° specular gloss, ASTM procedure D 523) and a low haze-gloss.
- The finish of the table top will also be unacceptable if, regardless of the measured degree
of gloss, it permits the shape of a light-source to be distinguished in its reflection.
