Hi guys,

I'm a beginner player and wondering if the following combo is fine for offence/spin or not:

Tibhar Status power wood blade
Tenergy 05 both side

Really appreciate your advice.

Cheers

Blade: Trinity Carbon
FH: Victas VS > 401
BH: Dr N Troublemaker OX
I think the combination will work very well, but it will be too fast and hard to control for a beginner. it's the sort of bat that high level competition players use.

Blade: DHS Long 2
FH: Dianchi D
BH: Yinhe Pluto
That blade with Yinhe Mercury 2 would make a good start and beyond. Get a medium and soft versions of the Mercury 2. Generally the harder one (medium) to be used on the Forehand, the softer one (soft) on the Backhand. Start from there. You can flip them around to see if you like them the other way around. Or if you like both medium or both soft. Or, if you really want to simplify things, get both of the soft version. It’s easier to use to start with. You can change later on.

The amount of money you saved for not getting two Tenergy 05 rubbers could be use toward coaching.

Blade: Donic Waldner Senso V1
FH: Donic Baracuda Big Slam
BH: Victas Triple Regular
Agree with the above. The blade is nice, not too fast but at the upper end of the range for new / intermediate players. Tibhar Samsonov Alpha is another good option, just a little slower. Note that we have people that have won our club championship with both of those blades.

Regarding rubbers, I think for a start, use any soft Chinese rubber to develop your strokes then in a year if you want something faster, go up to a Euro tensor like Bararcuda in 2.0mm.

LKT XP or XT Pro are great options also. Also Yinhe Mars 2 in the soft version.

For interest, I'm not a great player however am in the top handful at our club. One season I used a Yinhe N11 with 2 sheets of Reactor Corbor for a season. My results were exactly the same as when I use my 'better' equipment. It just didn't feel as nice and was harder work. The only combination I wouldn't be able to use is something too quick. Too slow is fine unless you reach high levels, but too quick will ruin you. Something like the T11 and any of those OFF+ blades will be too quick. As far as rubbers go Tibhar MX-P was way too bouncy for me and I couldn't control it.

If in doubt, at first go a bit slower then increase rubber speed later.

One of my favourite 5-ply blade...A do-it-all sort of blade...

The blade itself is in the OFF- range...Paired with a fast, high-arc rubber like T05 may not be an ideal beginner setup...

I'd suggest either of following 2 options...

1. Retain the blade, but switch-out the T05s for rubbers like Palio CJ8000, LKT XP, Friendship Focus III Snipe,etc

2.Change the entire setup... I'd recommend, either Sanwei M8/Accumulator S, Stiga Allround Classic, Yasaka Sweden etc., along with the above rubbers..

+1 for the Yasaka Sweden Classic with Palio CJ8000 - you won't go wrong!
