If it's 2-piece it should be ok for recreational use. Just keep it in a dry area, and these tend to have a thin surface, which bows much more easily.

The 4-piece ones are hopeless as you get an extra edge in the middle of the table...

well no i play with smooth bats as once in a while i backhand topspin/topspin but 99% of the time id like to chop or backspin the ball, ever since i started playing ( with no help from anyone) i just tend to backspin/backhand hit/chop the ball as it seems better for me. But a mate taught me how to topspin and im kinda liking it so yeah i may go pimple but i tried a short pimple and it was CRAP!!! not sure bout long pimp but i might as well use smooth bats rather than short pimp =="

Oh im using the smooth bats as i just like to spin the ball eg GHOST SERVE WOOT WOOT

Ebay Brand New $120 delivered, 2 piece, 16mm top..... bigger bargain lol.

4 piece is better than nothing of course, but 2 piece is the way to go. One piece is good too if you have a pool table, but height is an issue.
