Without...going bankrupt, I would like to purchase a digital caliper to be able to measure (with a high level accuracy 8)) the height of OX LPs and inverted rubbers too. Having no experience with this type of equipment, I would like to ask for any indications about which brand/model of caliper could meet this scope and where to purchase it (with approx. price indications). Then my my table tennis bag will finally look like the one of...a doctor

Here is one at the Home Depot. If you look around, you can find others for less than $20. :)

Keep a look at Ebay.. Look for DYMAX PC-2 light welder or DYMAX 2000-EC

Right now, there's only a power supply for the PC-2 on Ebay.. They want $249 for the power supply.. Then you still have to get the light..

Yep! China. Same with Wall Mart. I read, over 94% of Wall Mart goods are from China. They will fill a whole container ship to keep shipping costs down.

People here complain about losing jobs to other countries, (not just China) but they all love to shop in Wall Mart.

I recently went through the ITTF Racket Control Technical Leaflet T9 effective 1 September 2010 .
I believe this should be the latest one published. This document describes how the umpires and/or racket controllers may check and measure that a racket is legal. One section is dedicated to the thickness measurement procedure with electronic equipment and it also includes the photo of the device itself. It's not really a standard "digital caliper" but something quite different in the appearance and I would be curious to know if this same device can be bought somewhere?... ;) Tried to attach the photo to the text but didn't succeed :@ Thanks!

..right! (I haven't learnt how to import photos :headbang: yet) It looks like a very user friendly tool no?...Let's see if someone has an idea where this toy could be bought or, maybe, it is just model made for the exclusive use by ITTF?...I can imagine that local umpires would be really impressed  seeing a player with such a tool in his hands during a tournament (or think that he's mad :shake:) ...all the other players a bit less  This leads me to a question...in theory could a player ask an umpire to check his opponents' racket :!: using the above tool which would be kindly handed over to him?...

:hai: Haggisv, I looked almost everywhere on the net (and in the shops...) but couldn't find anything similar to the model in the pics :( Knowing that you are rather...introduced 8) with ITTF...do you think that maybe you could ask them re where it's possible to buy a similar tool?
