so what IS the absolute slowest blade available today? ive heard some rants about how slow the JOOLA toni hold whitespot is, and the Dr. neubauer barricade also, along with (i think) the STIGA tube defense. i know for one that the joo se hyuk blade is not the slowest, but its not the fastest (which i dont know what that is either)

The absolute slowest blades are various premade ones, usually the super-cheap $1.00 ones. Just take the rubbers off and dress to suit.

i was talking to one of the local vendors around here about slow blades and he reckons the tsp balsa 2.5 is the slowest thing on the planet,i said what about white spot?he had one there and did a bounce test on the bare blades and the bounce was noticably lower from the tsp blade,he also reckons it`s slower than cos3 as he has tried em all,he know`s his stuff and is a fairly decent level lp blocker in the local league.

When I did the bounce test on bare blades, comparing my Dr. N Barricade to 8 other bare blades, it was by far the slowest. It was slower than any of the terribly slow cheap pre-made blades that I had peeled the rubber off. It was 30% slower than my Gambler Oversize Kevlar too. The Barricade's wood is so soft that it feels like they extended the cork on the handle and put that cork right over the blade.

Joola T-Hold White Spot is so slow, that there is either a black hole at center of mass, or a strong ball magnet.

This is the exact opposite of a Schildkrot 900.

I've used a lot of slow blades and I think the TTMaster blades were the slowest.

The TTMaster Evolutive Defence was the slowest blade I ever played with. Whether it's "the slowest" I don't know, but it was so slow, getting the ball across the table was a touch tricky!

Best "slow" blade by far is Donic Defplay Senso. It is verrrrry slow, but not as slow as Barricade. Slow enough though -for me- to use almost any legal low-friction LPs on the market.

When it comes to attacking this defensive blade simply has no peers. This blade flexes under pressure and catapults your loopkills or smashes like a slingshot unlike any defensive blade I've ever tested. It's the reason why this is the blade of choice of all top Chinese choppers right now.

Bounce test is really only valid for low impact shots. It's a guideline nothing more.

I found the cos3 is slower than the modern toni hold whitespot (which in turn is slower than the old toni old blades which are quicker than their reputation).

Not sure about the speed of some of these uber lightweight blades, but some may indeed be slower than the above blades. I have a light weight JZ defence which is slower than the old toni hold blades and JZ's non-light weight counterparts. I haven't compared it with the exact same rubber against other blades I have so can't say if it's slower or faster than them.

Edit: Best of 5 carbon defence is slow too, and low throw.

Joola Toni Hold Whitespot is the classic Toni Hold Antitop blocking blade. This blade is widely being used by evil old men with anti on bh. In combination with Toni Hold Antitop with a thick sponge it extremely slows down fast topspin so that you can chop and block close to the table. This blade is made of very soft wood and it's very light weight.

BTY Joo Se Hyuk is an OFF+ blade compared to Toni Hold Whitespot :)

+1 for TSP balsa 2.5.
i used the fitter version, and oh man, imo, is the slowest def blade i've tried. Lots of vibration also.

2nd will be nittaku wiltria and 3rd is TSP reflex defense..

My experience is the neubauer barricade (almost impossible to hit or loop a winner) followed by toxic 3.

On a bounce test the TTMaster Evolutive blade is slightly slower than the Barricade. Sadly for me(money wise) both blades did not have the same control as the TTMaster Sensitive blade.
