OOAK Table Tennis Forum

I am looking for a hard, stiff and medium speed blade. Is there a combination like that? Usually a medium blade is flexy and has a lot of vibrations.

Usually only A/C or carbon are hard and stiff, but they are fast. I would say some 5-ply blades are almost hard and stiff, yet light enough. You should take a look at a cheap blade like BTY Primorac OFF-.

I think some of Galaxy's W series are medium speed, but maybe I'm remembering wrong. A buncha the guys here use them, so they should be able to help you.

I read somewhere that Liqin used to play with OC Cr specially varnished maybe to increase stiffness.

If you can find it, gewo has some hard type ALL: Texalite Allround (ALL) or Texalite Powerfeeling (ALL+).

Others: Sanwei T431 (4+3 carbon), Milky Way/Galaxy Y3 (5+2 carbon, Y4 is a bit softer) or Donic Applegreen Allplay (normal or senso V2).

You need to search for composite blades, normal ALL blades tend to be soft.

You can also try aluminium adhesive tape, my dad did some experiments with it in a balsa blade and the aluminium add stiffness to the blade...

I find Violin pretty stiff and pretty "allround" too. Could do the trick.

I think that the Grubba carbon is the best option, the Maze passion is not a stiff blade.

Sounds like the Andro Super Core Carbon Light ALL+ might be perfect for you. Very hard and stiff and weighs only 70 grams!

But now I come back to my Mazunov blade and I think something slower will be .... too slow for my game .

I second that, going from a mazunov blade to an ALL/ALL+ would be a BIG step

Donic Crisan Carbospeed is all and stiff, one of my slowest blades, but every ball goes into the table, and I often tend to shut off the table...good against frictionless LP...

i have a joo bty blade and its more all than def and there has a lot of vibrations. it's also hard

The Valor Lucky "5" is a great alround blade. Large sweet spot, soft feel yet stiff, can also be used as a chopper blade since it is slightly oversized. Good for blocking.
