We are almost there...

Birding&table.tennis received a forwarded mail from Joo Se Hyuk to the Korean Table Tennis association containing a file with Joo Se Hyuk's answers to our questions :D

Unfortunately, the file could not be opened, neither by us, neither by our contact from Korean TT association.

Joo has replied he will send a new file as soon as possible...

So let's all keep our fingers crossed and look forward to it

I want to mention that even though we could not open the file, it does appear that his answers are in Korean. We told Joo Sehyuk that it would be fine if his answers are in English or in Korean. (My wife is Korean, and she has agreed to translate his answers into English for us.) We told Joo that we would send back the translated answers for his approval. I expect that this will be quick and straightforward.

It sure looks exciting.

Steven

If he answered in Korean, then that might suggest his answers will be more detailed. I'm so excited!

I received the answers this evening from Joo Saehyuk. My wife spent most of the evening translating his answers from Korean into English. Just like me, I am sure that you will find his answers to be fascinating. I just sent the english translation back to our contact at the Korean Table Tennis Association, to be forwarded to Joo Saehyuk for his approval. (I want to make sure that we didn't mistranslate anything.) So, the email interview should be up on the forum very soon.

Steven

I have read Joo Saehyuk's answers this morning. Special experience and an apotheosis of an exciting process...

Last autumn, Birding&table.tennis (Steven) posted the beautiful e-mail from Joo in which he thanked us for the best wishes the OOAK forum had sent when he was so ill. At that time he was already getting better and I believe he was about to compete again. I came up with the idea of going for an OOAK interview and had a conversation with Alex about it. He said it would be extremely difficult but that I was free to give it a try. That made it even a bigger challenge and motivated me even more (Thanks Alex  ). So then I contacted Steven who is a former member of the Canadian national team and who had been able to get in touch with the Korean association previously. He was as enthusiastic about the interview idea as I was. Together we went through the process of collecting, compiling and creating questions and of carefully getting in touch with Joo through the Korean Table Tennis association. This took us quite some effort and e-mails but it was very exciting to do. I really enjoyed all the conversations with Steven which often went beyond the interview. Again, thanks a lot Steven :handshake: and also a big 'thank you' for your wife who made such a good translation :f: . Thanks a lot Alex for giving the permission to take this initiative in the name of OOAK. And to all contributors of course, thank you for your questions and/or your support  !

I hope you will all like the interview!
