This is my dream style of using backhand. I play push/blocking game using long pips (GD Talon) on my backhand. Blocking fast or very spiny loops are my main problems with long pips, that's why I was thinking about switching to slick antis. I've heard its easier to block (passive block) with them. is that correct?
would you also please compare with Beast with dr neubauer anti special?

thanks!

a passive block has far spin reversal than lp..however slick antis require a lot of training as you have to adjust the angle a lot, it takes a lot of patience to get the hang of it.

the dr neubauer anti special is faster, has a lower trajectory, produces less spin reversal.

Thanks AA
After watching you game, I really want to give "beast" a try. I live in the US and I just wondered where I should buy it?
would you also please tell us more about the difference between 1.2 and 1.5 version? I have red that 1.2 is easier to attack with (aggressive push) and 1.5 needs less angle adjustment. Your aggressive pushes on the hand, are beautiful with a very good placement and you still chose 1.5 version. Aggressive push is my main shot with LPs but as I told you I cannot block fast loops with them.

your summary is correct! the 1.2 also is faster, the 1.5 slower.

you can order it here from the producer: http://www.der-materialspezialist.com/

waouw thanks for that vid you seem to get enough reversal to play your game as if it was an frictionless pip.
I do not know either how you can attack these bals with underspin. I used to play a weeker/slower stroke like a push.

So my question are:
1- have you ever tryed nightmare. I know the sheet is less controllable than beast but who knows.
2- will you give a try to spin parasite ? That look promising, please share !

yes, i have tried the nightmare..the trajectory is lower than the beast which is nice, however its a lot less controllable on fast blades, it nees to be played on a allround wood..

there will be more on spinparasite soon ;)

Looks really good. Are you going to switch from Beast to Spinparasite? What do you think of the Anti-King blade and Burnout short pips?

thanks! i will do a lot of experimenting over the summer, especially with various blades..nothing set in stone yet!... the anti-king is great for frictionless antis, its a wood without carbon, tempo all-round. burnout is a cool sp sheet, need to play more with it, what you see in the video is me playing the second time after a +2 month break from playing due to achilles tendonitis.

Both the Beast and the new rubber appear to enable AA to play any shot he likes. (perhaps the new one with more venom than even the Beast).
How do these compare with Butterfly Super Anti.
Is there any area in which Super anti could match or surpass them
or is it just not in the same league for this style of play ?

I'm almost a bit temped to give a glanti a go again, I tried the Guard and also the Nightmare a few years back and didn't like it at all back then, but after seeing AA attacking underspin so effortlessly in the video above it seems kinda interesting again. I now that one of the rubbers, can't remember if it was Guard or Nightmare, came loose from the topsheet and I might have thrown it away, but I will probably give the other one a go.

I'm curious how the attacking of backspin seems to work quite well too. Is there much reversal when attacking backspin?

Between beast and spin parasite which is easier to attack with?

Also of the two which one forces the opponent to push easier in order to get your attack?

Which chops better? And what thickness would be easier to transition from ox long pips with?

attacking floating/no spin balls results in very flat trajectory balls that are very dangerous as they tend to fall into the net. attacking backspin results into more into no spin balls, so placement is essential as you want to force your opponent into an error, so it also is better if the sheet is faster when attacking backspin.

@ybanti- never tried the butterfly anti.

@tabesamis- both are great to attack with. but beast is really slow, so in terms of attacking the parasite has the edge. i never chop, but if you mean classic defense far behind the table like in the video, it hardly makes a difference.

That's the best reversal I've seen on a anti.. however, the issue I have with antis is that the "druckschlupf" aggressive phsh does not work with antis. You actually have to hit with the anti instead of just pushing.. hitting is more risky than druckschlupf. Furtbermore, with the right pips, the druckschlupf is a lot faster than the hit with a anti.. not everyone has your skills for those hits that you perform with the anti. I certainly don't have them. I actually love how Toni Hold new anti 40 ox blocks but i just can't do druckschlupf with it..

Amir,
could you compare beast 1.2 and spinparasite 1.5? I am playing with beast 1.2 on backhand around the four months ( I played with inverted before) and i am thinking to switch to spinparasite.
Is spinparasite 1.5 better than beast 1.2 in general? I believe that transition to sp 1.5 is less painful than 1.2 because of speed and and my inexperience. Thanks, Martin
