Which is better to use rubber for topspin (blade Firestarter): hard, medium or soft sponge?

The speed on backhand is nearly the same.

On the forehand the Zeus is a little bit faster.

I think the Zeus is a little bit softer.

For the HELLFIRE the Zeus is the better choice.

I would choose a medium or soft sponge.

I even like to use hard rubbers like DHS rubbers for example.

It depends on what you like.

If you use a hard rubber - a feeling of vibration?

tabletennis11 doesn't have Zeus blade with conic handle. What is the reason of this strange status?

I don´t know. Maybe this wholesaler will only sale straigt blades. You should start a request.

Otherwise there are other wholesalers who sell the ZEUS in conic:

Reversal is always better in OX.

OX doesn't have sponge under the pips, so the ball has nothing except the pips to grip, so the rotation of the ball only decreases, but the direction of the rotation is still in same direction.

With sponge, the ball grips into the sponge wich is then deformed. When the sponge goes back in its old shape, it gives the ball a kick which is decreasing the rotation or even reverses the direction of the rotation. Due to this fact, you can create more spin with sponge yourself, but when passiv blocking, OX has more reversal then sponge.

So sponge pips are better for chopping while OX is better for pushblocking.

Kind Regards

Hi,

I am new to defensive play. For the Zeus blade. The common set-up, do I put the OX rubber on the faster or slower (Zeus Logo) side?

I noticed that Tabletennis11 is selling Zeus with rubber, they placed the pimples out rubber on the faster side. Is this the usual way?

Thanks.

Normally the pimple rubber would be placed on the slower side of the blade.

Most blade manufacturers of combination blades make the logo-side of the blade the faster side, so the pimple rubber would be put onto the non-logo side of the blade.

For Sauer & Tröger blades, they have stated:
ZEUS / FIRESTARTER plate = this side is the slower one
SAUER & TRÖGER plate = this side is the faster one
