Andro market their stuff quite well, with cool names, graphics and videos, and they make some good gear, so it's relatively popular here. As part of the OOAK shop I get asked regularly if I can supply specific Andro rubbers. Since we can't buy them from the AU distributor, I need to come up with alternatives, which I don't find easy as I'm not so familiar with them and have only tried a few of their rubbers.
Andro gets most of their rubbers made by ESN, who supply the same technology to the likes of Donic, Joola, Tibhar, Xiom Etc, so there is almost always something quite similar from another brand using the same technology and generation.
So to cut a long story short :oops: , I though I'd start a thread about popular Andro equivalent rubbers, which would be useful to me, but I'm sure can be useful to others as well. Hopefully some of you can chip with suggestions. ;)

Here is a list of the more popular ones (AFAIK), roughly in the order of when they're released. Below each one I'll add similar options, which would provide suitable alternatives, but of course not identical performance.

Watching with interest but not enough personal experience to add to this one. Interested in the Hexer as its pretty popular at our club.

Is there anything they sell that does NOT come from ESN? :lol:

The only thing I know about Andro is Rasant - given how much effort they make into promoting the various Rasants, I'm surprised they sell much of anything else.

There's just so many Andro models to choose from and to me it kinda looses its flavour when it's probably from the ESN factory that makes other brands.

I wonder if there's a current up trends in Japan made rubbers, in particular the traditional types, ignoring the Tenergy series. Like the Nittaku Hammond Pro Beta and TSP Agrit rubbers - good price performance ratio.

Surely TSP and Nittaku (and Armstrong) have Tenergy equivalents?

Hexer and Baracuda are pretty similar.

I have used Rasant for years, and prior that I used to use Hexer plus...so I don't really know the substitutes. I gave a brief try to Rakza 7 years ago and it reminded me of Hexer powersponge. If anyone can back that up, it might be a worthwhile notation.

Has anyone found a rubber similar to Rasant Power Grip?

I've added a few more rubbers, if anyone is interested. ;)

Our club seems to be very Andro focused so very good to have a reference.

I've been using Andro almost exclusively (and stopped my EJing), but here are some I'd recommended

Rasant Grip = Sanwei target National (black)

Roxon 500 = Donic Coppa X1 turbo Platin

Backside = Butterfly tackiness D
