Just got it.
Physical appearance : F-less top. A little F side.

Saviga V, claimed to be F-less, has much more F than Razor.

Cool! Yes Saviga V is probably the most grippy of the frictionless  Are the tips smooth?

What about pimple softness, size, spacing, etc?

More importantly how hard are the pips? Neubauer hard (very), 755 hard (medium hard), 955 hard (softish), C&FIII hard (very soft).

Another vote for ^
Does the claimed "fabric base" improve pip bend?
How fast is it?

EDITED 6/17/2007
I use Razor with my 2nd setup. Always use it at first 5 mins of the day while waiting glue to dry.

This's my first and only one F-less so I don't know what to compare to. I'll give it a shot.
Tt's easy to attack any underspin balls.
Produce lots of wobble, less than SB or HM original.
Pretty fast for blocking, very good against lower level(under US 1800) but not good blocking over US rated 2000.
I tried that Solja's punch block...it's VERY easy to do and can to disrupt opp's tempo but not fast enough to kill.
I'm surprised that it's pretty easy to chop too and believe me chopped ball is not super heavy but more than moderate(7/10)
when receive U-spin, I can't chop or push, it pop up....gotta lift or attack which very good player will wait for it.
Real weakness is when opp does drop shot my chop, the only choice is to float or lift. Razor can't produce any rotation to prevent strong attack.
It's not designed to play away from table. I don't think Razor will be a popular choice in long run, maybe in woman tournament, because 1. It's not fast enough to kill....just to make opp annoyed. 2. a bit too fast for blocking. 3. Sometime pips bend, balls catch grippy side- pop up. sometimes balls skid on non-grippy surface....unpredictable.

Note: I'm a chopper, not a blocker. My review might not be accurate as F-less users review.

Thanks for your quick update BH.

I'm surprised that you can't chop against underspin better with this rubber- as you are an experienced chopper. If you can't- I would struggle also.

Did you have troble keeping the ball low? Did it create no-spin balls that your opponent read and was killing? Did heavy chops to you end up returned as topspin even after you chopped the ball- and after several balls your opponent wasn't fooled?

Did you have troble keeping the ball low? - a little but better after a while Did it create no-spin balls that your opponent read and was killing? I tried to hit it fast to the body to 1. prevent being attacked 2. force to get a weak ball coz he can't push either....he push - I kill. Did heavy chops to you end up returned as topspin even after you chopped the ball - YES. It's so easy to attack chop so you don't want to chop it...better attack and after several balls your opponent wasn't fooled?Changing blade angle seems to work well...your know chop block, punch block, pull right-left.

Using this against anyone below semi-pro(they don't push much) is fine. The wobble will kill the tempo of opp and get a lot of pop up.
To use it effectively(at least to me), I have to kill any pop up to send the message to my opp that "Don't dare to pop it up or i'll kill it" .... after that I got plenty of cheap points coz opp forced to keep it low too much and sometimes weak loop which I block and wait for my opp to lift.

The only thing I hate is that the side often(F) catch the spin from super Tspin and pop up.

Do you mean that because Razor is a bit grippy super topspins grip it and pop up the ball? Or were you referring to P1r ?

Excellent, it sounds like there is just enough grip from the sides of the pips to create spin uncertainty with different strokes. Also good for aggressive punch blocks, + slight friction for chopping away from the table, yet hopefully quite frictionless when flat blocking.

This may be the L/P I've been looking for. :P

Well I've just glued up some razor and I'm going to hit with it this afternoon. This is THE loudest and most difficult to put on the bat OX pip I've seen. It flops so much it is really hard to glue. I tried just gluing the blade then putting the rubber on, but it is soooo floppy I had a difficult time getting rid of air bubbles, even with a roller! Did I say it was loud?

Hope you did it well.
Don't ever put any glue on OX rubber!!!
Place a sheet of paper between blade and rubber then slowly pull the paper out and press the OX to the blade simultanously.

That's an interesting method BG, never heard of it before! Doesn't the paper pull off a lot of glue from the blade?

what i usually do when i glue OX on to the blade.

Is the glass plate method,
brush the glue on to the glass, but you must wait for the glue too dry,
then do what you do normally,
this works well because it doesnt soften or stretch out the topsheet

It is the method Dr N lists on his site. Which is what I did, but the 'fibre' nature of the base made it real hard. I'll put a 'first impression' post tomorrow - its 00.44 here, and i need to sleep!
