so, i finally had a training today with my new setup...

destroyer blade with 1.0 transformer on BH and evolution mx-s on the FH...

and i LOVE IT

it is night and day from my old combination...like it was said before, Destroyer with 1.0 Transformer is great combo...blocks and all balls are just so short and low, the opponent cant reach the 2nd ball...and the reversal is massive...

i was practicing all training what we have learned on the course and it was great...i havent played all summer and i won against my playing partner who usually beats me because he got used to my anti..

i simply didnt give him any easy balls with this setup...i pushed all balls forward so he could not attack easily, just like we practiced and he was like wtf is that all of a sudden :)

still has some trouble on fast, long no spin serves, but i am getting there...

best 88EUR i ever spent, thanks AA

This blade is pretty great isn't it?

The only trouble I am having: the players I am training with have some powerful loops, and when I block they tend to go long. I keep trying to adjust the angle of the blade but the ball just has too much juice on it.

Any advice? I can't seem to get the hang of pulling back at the point of contact the way AA does against a fast loop.

until maybe AA give a better answer i would say that i am doing it with the right angle...and if the ball is going so fast and hard, it means that the ball you sent was too easy...

Ah yes Iceman, sometimes I am giving a ball that is too easy. Good point. But sometimes the opponent simply has a hard loop drive.

I had a couple more matches today where I made better placement and did better.

I forgot to mention that at my club we are using the Butterfly G40+. This has been quite challenging for the techniques we learned at the Materialkurs - with far more angle sensitivity.

Tomorrow at my training session I will try the 1.5mm sponge and report back the difference.

Did my group training with 1.5mm sponge today. Too early to tell, but it is easier to control. Blocks that would have gone long are landing on the table. Extra difficult for opponents because of how slow and soft the ball is. Need to try the glanti press strokes more. I suspect that with the thicker sponge attacks may work better with the heavy Butterfly G40+ that is used at my training center.

I think I'll stick with this for another couple training sessions.

Hey Iceman - how is your powerful forehand with this blade?

a good question because that was my main concern...

but no problems...the blade is fast enough...or my FH is fast enough

Hi, and great that you (hopefully) can arrange another course!
Sorry for a question off topic, but is there anything you can say about your BH rubber Mega-block? Release date? I guess it is a developement of Transformer, to make it even more deadly, but is it even slower? To me it feels like anything slower than Transformer 1,5 mm would be too slow.
