Any comparison between AK47 red vs Tenergy?

Haven't used either one... Do you expect them to be similar, and why?

Since above review said feeling like tensor rubber, just wondering how far away compared to tenergy

There are tons of Chinese rubbers that claim to be "like Tensors" - everything from Tin Arc to Battle to Big Dipper to all the various Palios with "Biotech" sponge (mimicry of ESN's "BIOS" branding, no doubt). I've not heard of anyone claiming they've found a real Tensor or Tenergy equivalent (other than with Tin Arc). In fact, I've never heard anyone claim any of the Tensors are "exactly like" Tenergy, either, and you'll notice the pros using Tenergy in great profusion. DHS apparently gave up altogether, you'll notice that the new Gold Arc V IS a Tensor..

So forgive the skepticism. Why not buy a sheet yourself and try it? And let us know if it's anything Tensor-like. You never know, this might be the Holy Grail. (To be honest - I'm the last person to ask because I can barely tell the difference between Big Dipper and Rasant... )

If someone is looking for something that plays like Tenergy he should specify which one he's pointing at or at least he should define the characteristics he's looking for. Otherwise he just should buy a Tenergy - nothing else plays exactly alike.

There are some ESN-China rubbers which aren't really that cheap - they are tensors and they have the ESN/Tensor logo as well. That of course doesn't turn them into a Tenergy, which is the same with all tensors anyway. Hence, there is a sufficient amount of rubbers available which should suit a player as well as 'their' Tenergy does, especially at sub-national level.

I use a AK47 red in my setup and is great, especially for the price. Not quite as bouncy as my MX-P but does the job well. It's still fairly bouncy and lively compared to many other rubbers.

I used to have a Yinhe Moon on the other side of the blade and I find that the AK47 is much better with plenty more catapult effect.

I totally recommend it as a cheap 'tensor' alternative.

Do you think AK47 better for looping or hitting?

I find it suitable for looping and hitting, although bear in mind, I use a flexible blade(Yinhe W-6).

There's also the question of WHICH new AK47..

How is in comparison with Blitz in terms of catapult effect?

Problem is.. how do you measure "catapult effect", and what is it exactly?

Aahhh the dreaded quest to find the catapult effect rubber

People dont understand that Tenergy rubber is very very different from say Andro Rasant rubber. And that this so called catapult effect is all in the mind of the player. Might as well ask for the "Trebuchet" effect

Problem is not all rubbers react so violently like Tenergy when contacting a spinning and fast ball. A beginner player like me after experimenting with all manner of Tensor and tensor-like rubbers, I ended up using 729 SuperFX and 729-2 rubbers and Yasaka Rising Dragon for competition. All the Euro rubbers and Tensor rubbers are "too fast" as in they have too much "catapult" or "trebuchet" effect built in to them

If I wanted to launch the TT ball into say near-earth orbit I will go and buy all the tensor rubbers and stop playing TT and get into rocket science

In short, Tenergy if you want Catapult effect .... everything else if you want less catapult effect. Chinese if you hate catapult effect and prefer the "trebuchet" effect that requires you to use arm power.

I've only played a bit with Blit'z in the past and don't really remember. However, blit'z is quite a bit more expensive putting near the European rubbers price wise.



That's a good question. I would usually just drop the ball on the bat and see how high it bounces back, and how much effort it takes for me to bounce it higher etc. Not very scientific but seems to provide me some basic information.
