I play you:

I serve, hitting the ball on my table then the ball hit your table, then you hit the ball to my table and I hit the ball to your table, and so on.

When you serve, you hit the ball on your table then the ball hit my table, then I hit the ball over to your table, and you hit the ball to my table, and so on.

Same with double. With the exception on serve the ball must hit within the opposite left half part (server point of view) of the table. Single, on the serve, the ball can hit anywhere on the opposite side.

Right. Unlike tennis volleying is not allowed in table tennis.

Might be worth trying a couple games with volleying allowed just to see how funny...

And to see how easy or difficult "net play" would be in table tennis..

I tried playing every shot with a bounce on each side (like a serve) the other night. it was pretty hilarious
