I just watch australia open and so amaze with this new comer He Zhuojia
She played against Liu Shiwen, very good attacked play.
I heard commentator said she uses long pips on her red rubber BH.
I'm wondering anybody know her equipment?

She must be playing with short pimples, there is no way that she is using long pips.

It's definitely long pips. The commentators during her matches say it repeatedly, and she mentioned it during an interview quote that's available online. I've never seen anyone use long pips to attack so effectively and consistently. Incredible.

Feint soft is very grippy though. You can do mini loops and such for consistency. So it's not very lp like from what people are used to. It's more of a medium pip when hitting with higher margin for error on lower balls because you can spin them over or push with some spin.

Not necessarily easy to do by any means... but easier than the slicker lp

I am surprise to find out that He Zhuojia is actually using long pips, Bty Feint Soft to be exact.
Below are some URL's related to He Zhuojia. These pages are in Chinese, you can use Google Translate to translate to English.
It is stated in the articles that she used to be in the 2nd CNT and her main objective is to simulate playing style of Ai Fukuhara

From that article, it sounds like she was kind of forced into using long pips because the team needed a skilled player to learn them as practice partners. And that she is winning more with them after a while as a result.

Fierce and fast dead balls flying at everyone!

I would think her style is harder than mima itos, speaking of margins. But she sends back deader balls which might cause more disruption as it is a greater contrast, but perhaps a but more predictable.

I'm amazed she can attack so well with long pimples, even if it has a sponge. I would have guessed they were short pimple from the way she plays! :o :o :o

Full credit to her opponent too, who seemed to have no trouble handling the different balls coming from either rubber!

You wrote the same thing about that other girl using curl p1r OX to attack with!

Where's the faith, Haggis! Where's the faith!

I don't have anywhere near their skill level, but I can attack very well with the grippy long pips. They need just enough grip to impart a tiny bit of spin, and then you can hit quite hard consistently and accurately. The balls aren't as "funky" as the ones from LP blockers or that sort, but they can be much quicker and still contain some spin variation. Though it is usually a dead ball coming back to them.

They're essentially medium pips when played that way. Smack, smack!
