Hi Charlie it's 6 months and still not healed, havn't played this season yet and gutted ...the hard work we put in to get to that division and I'm missing out.
I am looking at light fast balsa/carbon blades options were the pips are still managable for when the injury clears up,the bb 3 .0 is great for lp but now I will need stronger attacking options on f/h

Hi Guys,
I have now played ten or so matches with the B and W. I can’t make up my mind about it! I am hitting quite well with LPs on the backhand and my forehand is as dazzling inconsistent as ever. I am going to persevere with it as we are doing well in all the leagues I am playing in and I don’t want to mess about with my setup. I wonder whether I could use disruptive short pips on the backhand side as effectively as LPs?

Hi Bulldog
As Regards your forehand it might help to switch to a harder more linear/less catapult rubber than FXP to gain more control. I am getting lots of control and spin from Aurus select 1.9mm and it will be interesting to hear how Dusty gets on with the same rubber in 2.1mm.

If you like to attack on the backhand with lifting type strokes etc. Then I can definitely recommend a thin sponge disruptive SP or MP on the B&W. It really depends if you want to play on the front foot or back foot as you will need to do the former.

I agree. I have a few doubts about the FXP. I was previously using ELP and might return to it at the halfway point of the season.

ELS sounds tempting apparently a good upgrade over ELP

Thanks to Sauer and Troger for the quick reply:
It is Koto on top/in the middle balsa surrounded by Black Cloth/Balsa/Limba

Whatever it is I started causing mayhem with it,having a winning run of 22 matches....followed by a badly torn trapezius muscle which has sidelined me for over a month.
Great blade.

Tough luck hope you get back at the table soon.

Although not fully sorted with what to use on the blade I definitely feel that my game is improving since the change from TSP balsa blades. Although quite a slow and controlled blade when blocking pushing etc. It is a surprisingly fast when you let rip on the FH. Being very light I think it benefits in FH speed from a fairly heavy BH rubber. Eg 35- 40 gms cut.

Black & White has killed my blade EJ’ing stone dead. I’m sticking with it.

After a good practice session this morning I have one word to describe the B&W "precision"

The accuracy that you can drill balls down the line on both FH & BH is amazing.

Dusty how are you finding Aurus select 2.1mm. in 1.9mm I am finding it a little short on speed and spin unless hit hard and thinking that 2.1mm might give a slightly softer spinnier feel. Might try FXS 2..0mm in the new year.

I like Select in 2.1. Speed is about the same as SH-I in 1.8 and control is just as good or better so 2.1 is perfect for me. They are very similar rubbers, very spinny, linear and with good control.

B&W with Select 2.1 / DG Ox is currently my preferred setup.

Hi guys, do you think B&W will work well with a SP on the BH side? I want to be able to consistently hit through spin and short receive serves. Thanks!
B&W is on sale and I'm tempted to try it out.

I think it would be very good with short pips. I would like to use a short pimple at a future stage on the blade.

Stuck a used sheet of Degu 1.5mm short pips on my B&W yesterday as an experiment. Will play later this week and see how it compares to Keiler as a back hand rubber
