I've just came across quite new Butterfly S40+ *** balls.
https://en.butterfly.tt/three-star-ball-s40-3-pack.html

Has anyone had a chance to try them and could share some feedback?

Seems to be their new top end ball being more expensive than the A40. Also claims to be made in Germany not China like the A40.

Hopefully does indeed feel softer than other ABS balls and spinnier due to the rough surface, at least until it wears off

I have some of the G40 and S40 balls so will try them this week. An amazing difference in the texture of the balls so I would guess they will play very differently.

G40 were awful for me (hard feeling and kind of slippy), so I wonder if S40+ are anything better.

I really liked the S40 ball. Only played against some kids but I did like the general feel of the ball and also it was very consistent. Almost felt like an old 38mm celluloid ball!

Any more news on this new ABS-ball? How is the spin compared to previous ABS-balls?

The balls as now supplied for all ITTF Pro Tours/ Manually selected by a human checker.

Image

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/-/32981989347.html some 1.60 $ a piece/

Once you're lucky to get admittance to Taobao seller, some do offer those for 6 USD a pack/ that somewhat 1 US$ per one.

Be happy.
