Short pips chopper, and I am trying to imitate his style. He just won the China National Championship, as a chopper and at 37 years old! How cool!!

Its quite an accomplishment. I wish there was more instruction on how to play like this.

I think there are. Look for Ding Song instruction video. There may be a thread for him here somewhere and perhaps some of those videos too.

Anyone know what sponge he uses on his LP? I gave SP chopping a trial a few years ago and it was mostly a disaster. But I used sponge. I just recently tried to use 799 which are a SP by definition with no sponge, and I was amazed at how well they chopped...and hit!

Let’s discuss Hou’s equipment in his own ”real” thread instead.

I will place tve video above in Ding Songs thread, it was a very good and informative clip where he discusses Joo Sae Huyk (translation to English has a very different spelling), Chen X, Hou, training and different BH rubbers.
