You can read the Robert Simmon interview from NASA.gov

The images are created to meet our 'expectations' of what the earth looks like, lol.

They have certainly met the expectations of the heliocentric crowd.

To think as a kid if not an adult we were never influenced by such fake imagery....

and continue to be influenced to this day.

Adults discuss.Answer questions. They dont keep repeating the words their teacher odered. And certainly they dont base their whole life theory on the words of someone nobody just because he works somewhere.
Your whole theory is based on some simmons phrases whom for an unexplained reason reveals this nonesense consiracy once in a while and remains ta his position, and in not answering in questions.just like talibans. If you want the world to change , be a part of the world and discuss.Make dialogue.Dont act like talibans.
You answerd nothing.Or to be accurate you responded that telescopes are not accurate and you cant understand the shape you observe through them.Probably nasa makes all the telescopes and blurrs the images.
Get a life please.

For anyone else bothering to read this thread, the Simmon 'Blue Marble' image (as opposed to the famous Apollo 17 one from 1972) is a composite image that was created in 2002. At that time there were very few recent pictures available of the whole earth since most earth-observing satellites were in low-earth or geostationary orbit, which are not far enough away to get the entire planet in view. Most of the 'whole earth' pictures available then were from the Apollo missions undertaken decades earlier and are much lower resolution. So Nasa created this high resolution composite from images taken from low earth satellites and made it available free to the public. Yes they made it pretty and colourful. They also never claimed that it was from a single unretouched photograph and Simmon openly describes how image and data gaps were filled in, colours added etc.

This is old news. Since 2015 the DSCOVR satellite has been taking a dozen whole earth images per day. It's just short of 1 million miles from earth so no composites are required! You can see the database here:

He won't trust a telescope. They all have curved lenses.

A few thousand, actually. Eratosthenes calculated earth's size fairly accurately 2200 years ago.

Already explained about the dome, didn't I :P

Welcome to the ride! Lean back and enjoy it. It is going to last a while.

It'll last about a year. Then you keep hearing the same debunked arguments again and again. And you get sick and tired of the subject. Most of us here have gone beyond this point already. Everything that needs to be said has been said in the last 40+ pages, yet, Mac keeps repeating the same stuff over and over again.

Good interview. Nobody can practically demonstrate there's any curvature - natural science.

Images do not count as natural science ( science that can be demonstrated, which was the basis of the clip) as obviously it's very easy to manipulate them.

Officially we can only see the earths claimed curvature from seventy odd thousand feet which in itself should make the pic for globe earthers questionable.

Also,if there was curvature like the pic shows you would also see curvature looking to the left and right - we do not.

Watch the video.....

Ah... so it's got to be official now, does it? Let me suggest that you are confused. These photos of the causeways on Lake Ponchartrain are all over the place - you're welcome to go there and take one too. All you need is that favorite tool of the Flat Earther, the P900.

I know that you do not. It is because you aren't looking.
It is very simple to see if you look for it. Take a straightedge of some kind (simple ruler will do) and hold it up against the horizon line. Then you will notice a slight curvature. Otherwise, see a qualified optometrist/optician.

There is also an explanation for why that lateral curvature is visually less pronounced than the longitudinal one in the picture. It has to do partially with telephoto lenses and viewing range (view distance vs view sector angle), and partially with perspective and viewing angle.

Good luck!

showing pictures to flatearth cult members is the only thing they respond. In reality they are anti-picture-earthers.
For anything else they are waiting for prophet simmons's oracles.

Keme - I have done the straight ruler experiment numerous times and there's absolutely no curvature visible.

An explanation to this is needed.

Ahh don't tell me,someone is going to pull their get out of jail / mirage card out their pocket again, lol.
