I would pickup a sheet of Palio AK47 yellow or red if I was tight on cash. A pretty decent Chinese imitation of Japanese rubbers.

Not blue? I suppose for counter-driving rather than looping maybe the harder sponge might make sense, I suppose. Most people who post about it seem to like the blue, which has the softest sponge.

Another rubber a lot of people like is 729 Focus III Snipe. Have not tried it myself. Yinhe Mars II also has fans, I would also suggest Mercury II which is tacky, and is a $5 rubber.

The OP is using j-pen and AK47 blue is typically recommended as an BH rubber as it's fairly easy to loop with so my assumption was that he was looking for an FH rubber thus AK47 yellow or red.

I have very limited experience with j-pen but tacky rubbers has never worked for me. Things that has worked is T05, MarkV and Mantra M.

I've been playing with the AK-47 Blue & AK47 Yellow, and can vouch for both these rubbers ... The Blue seems to be better in the control aspect ... However, for me, the yellow seems to be really awesome for FH looping.. even from mid-distance from the table... I feel, the Yellow is springy'er compared to Blue, and also faster.. It also seems to be softer ..

I've also been playing with the 729 Focus III Snipe 42° Sponge, on a 10mm Hinoki Balsa Carbon blade... Another value for money rubber ... I love this rubber, more on my BH and my FH .... It's a do-it-all type of rubber...

It's funny that I'm considering a fake Tenergy 05 FX as a rubber, because it acts like a spinnier Sriver (Regular one) and a maybe a bit fast than a normal Sriver (The rich boy in my club demonstrated The difference in fake and real Butterfly rubbers, and Sriver is more worse than the fake Tenergy 05 FX)

Here in Indonesia we have
Fake Tenergy series (name the numbers 05)
Fake Sriver
Fake Tackiness Chop, Tackifire
Fake Rozena, Fake Feint Long, Fake Raystorm, (The pips fakes suck so much)
Fake Bryce Series (Speed, FX, etc.)
all for under 10-20$

and the best part is....

THE SELLER CLAIMS IT'S FAKE with no shame.

Anyways I'll buy a sheet of fake Tenergy 05 FX and a AK47 Yellow, I'll give back the result

There's probably many different fake Tenergy 05s. The one I bought some years ago was absolutely worthless. Kinda like a fast anti.

Ok, my Tenergy fake was somehow great, Imitates a Sriver. and the Sriver Fake I got was like a super spinny and super slow, so I got another one for my chopping def setup :).

The problem with fake table tennis rubber is that consistency from sheet to sheet is likely to vary widely, as is availability in general. Why spend hundreds of hours building a game around a rubber that you can't reliably replace when it wears out?

Nah, I bought 5 more sheets recently, THEY ARE ALL THE SAME :')

Don't underestimate some companies in making fake stuff, They might do it fake but they have good QC.

A local company literally did the same thing, they copied a Dornenglanz Rubber Long pips and turns out it was BETTER, but I'm not sure if they're really legal, but personal testing shows enough pips to be legal and thickness is < 4mm

But they did make one illegal rubber and they made it purposely, a 7mm frictionless LP, a true wobbler and we all hate it, not only because spin is only 20% effective, it is the only thing that blocks with an open face.

That's because you got it from the same place. Try buying from 3-4 different sources in China, you'll find they're different because 3-4 different counterfeiters made them.

How cheap ARE these, anyway? Counterfeits per se don't bother me - what does is when someone is trying to pass off the counterfeits for the real thing, and for the real thing's prices.

H3 Neo... no brainer. And you don't need to worry about fakes.

DHS rubbers (mostly H3) are the most counterfeited ones in China, so I've heard.
