Blade: Dawei Torrent
FH: Big Dipper 9035 Max Tense
BH: Big Dipper 9035 Max Tense
I am new to this forum but, not new to table tennis. I have been playing on average 3 days a week for 16 years (I get to play at work :) I guess I would be advanced in my playing ability).

I have an older Dawei with Torrent Offensive written on plastic lenses inserted into a purple hollow handle. It may be a Wavestone but, research on the web, Wavestones were made in China and my racket was made in Japan. I currently, have Big Dipper 9035# Max Tense 40 rubbers on both sides.

I am a lefty and my forehand is my stronger than my backhand. I like forehand loops or spinning shots and use my backhand for chops and looping.

I would like to move to a new racket that is a little more offensive and produces a little more spin with my forehand. And produces a little more spin when chopping with the backhand.

I have been looking at websites, trying to figure out what to buy but, I cannot determine what's an upgrade or downgrade.

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Mitch

Dawei is a Chinese brand, I don't know of anything they make that is made in Japan.

Big Dipper is about as spinny as it gets, if you brush with it. If you don't brush and want the rubber to work for you instead, choose a softer ESN rubber. You won't be able to control it though. Maybe Xiom Vega Japan or Europe

Buying new equipment is extremely difficult. Companies make it pretty much impossible.

I recommend getting something that is similar to what you currently have but then try something different on 1 side.

In the end you will get curious with so many choices. If I were you I would grab a sheet of Tenergy 05 on the side you want more from. It's the most popular rubber in the world and what everything else is compared to. It may not be good for your game but you will have a baseline and will have scratched the Tenergy itch that all EJs get.
