With this pandemic, I often forget whether it's the weekend or not.
Here are two great singers / entertainers, one of them has recently passed away. I hope you enjoy this video clip.

Wow. I used to listen to NPR on the radio Saturday evenings and Sunday mornings all the time. Great music shows - PHC, Folk Sampler, Weekend Radio from Cleveland, Thistle and Shamrock, St. Paul Sunday Morning, even Car Talk. Even got to the point of recording a lot of it (I had a HiFi VCR hooked up to a radio - six hours of good quality radio on a tape, plus you could set the timer). I have very occasionally found like streaming and archival audio on websites, but I never considered they'd end up on YouTube. If YouTube had existed 20 years ago I'd bet all the PHC shows would have been on it.

I think we could do this with those cast iron "shadow swing" bats from AliExpress and a large Superball.

Kinda health related, I suppose. This video was mentioned in a NY Times article on 1930s musicals:

(So he's full of Vitamin A... )

And then a couple hours later I came across this:

Talk about coincidence...   Moral of story - stay away from chopped liver. Particularly if it's chopped dog liver.

Ad from nine years ago:

And it seems like the Samurai Burger finally made it to Japan. Though it's probably not the same burger at all:

Mostly boring stuff, unless you like this sort of thing. Some interesting footage of server motherboards with HUGE processors and banks upon banks of DRAM modules, but stuff you never did ever think about but is somewhat interesting. And then at 9:30 - I thought THAT was pretty funny. Apparently in China four processor servers are RARE. And eight processor servers are VERY POPULAR, whereas elsewhere in the world they're unheard of. Why? The same reason there isn't a Hurricane IV.

Incidentally, data centers all over the world replace their servers (or the processors and RAM at least) on a schedule - 3 or 4 years after installation, they're too slow and consume too much power to make sense, so they buy new ones and scrap the old ones. And they end up in China. The motherboards are useless, of course (you can't just cut them in quarters and stick them in your desktop PC) but the processors and RAM still work and are pretty fast, even if they are 4-5 years old. So apparently China is awash with ex-server CPUs and RAM modules - these would currently be 6-8 core Xeon E5s and DDR3 ECC modules. So what to do? Make brand new motherboards with modern stuff like M.2 slots and sell them with Xeons and DDR3 cheap! Lots of YouTube videos about building PCs on this stuff. Search for "X79".

Supposedly the words to "Amazing Grace" also fit the tune of the Gilligan's Island theme song pretty well...

Didn't realize Maryanne looked so scary.
