I was delighted to pick up a Rival table second-hand last week and start to introduce my kids to the game. I am unable to find out about the Rival manufacturer.

One of the locking bolts is missing. Maybe they have a more "proper name"



Do you know where I could buy a replacement? Or if there was some steel of equivalent width for another purpose I could reuse?

You could try buying a hand grenade and use its pin.

What you're looking for is probably a quick release pin.

Release pin, thanks, having measured I think it's probably an imperial 1/4 inch (6.35cm)

The EASIEST replacement, in my opinion, would be an Allen key of appropriate size (sounds like 1/4", or 6/6.5mm). If you can show where it's supposed to fit, I'd be able to figure out how suitable it's likely to be. Yes, Allen keys are hexagonal, and your key is round. But it might work just fine. Another alternative would be a Phillips screwdriver with an appropriate sized shaft. You can get this stuff at any local hardware store.

I've never heard of that brand of table. Not too surprising, you probably never heard of "Bugsport" tables either. (They're not bad at all, though the bounce isn't as nice as tournament-grade tables with 25mm tops..) Tables are big and heavy, so especially for rec-grade tables, local brands abound.

Thanks for the idea. I picked up a €2 set of allen keys, the #6 works the best, it's not 100% tight but it's a decent workaround. Thanks very much.
