Hi everyone!
I need some advice again.
At the moment I am using Hurricane 2 Neo, but I am starting to get the feeling (especially since I started to play against better players) that it is a little too direct for me and my skill level.
I have been thinking about switching it after it has run its course.
I would like something that has a higher throw and margin of error.
Is H3 Neo a good change? Some of the players in my club also use Palio CJ8000.
What would you recommend?

Most Chinese rubbers are pretty direct. H3 is softer than H2, but not by much.

You can try cheap ones like 729-2, Loki 1, 3, 5 or yes a softer sponged version of the CJ8000.

Are they any good?

I've tried a few Yinhe rubbers: Big Dipper (original and IV), Jupiter, and Saturn Pro. Very good rubbers for the price.

I guess I prefer the original BD, and I believe it's also the cheapest among all I've tried.

All the stuff made by Yinhe is good, including blades, rubbers (SP, LP, inverted) and accessories - cleaning sponges, rollers

I would say most recommendations are good.

Get either 729-SuperFX-C or 729-2 or 729-08 ( tacky forehand rubbers but slow so you get more control )

729-5 or MarkV if you are an absolute beginner struggling with spin.

CJ8000-Spin is also a good choice.

Yinhe Sun/Moon/Earth/Mars --- are probably good enough.

Too fast for beginners probably,
Yinhe Jupiter/Jupiter-II --- are in-line or faster than H2-Neo and H2-original ... so avoid this.

Yinhe Saturn --- I have not had the chance to try it so can't really comment on its properties.

Yinhe? Brett recommends Mercury II (which you can get for about USD5 from AliExpress). I like Yinhe 9000 myself (because it's available for about $5 also). Big Dipper is also nice, but it's more like a $15-20 rubber (depending on whether it's on sale).

Frankly, I've stopped worrying about rubber. Most of it works as well as most others. The only one I've found to be utterly useless was Reactor Ckylin. There were also a few I didn't like because they were a mite too slow - various 999s, the KTL XP/XT series, and H3. Didn't mean I couldn't use them, or that it'd have made much difference in my game. The BLADE, now... that's a different story. Makes far more difference than the rubber does.

Currently using... Tenergy 05.. And 60 Second Eagle on the backhand.

Yup. I ended up going with Earth II medium from Yinhe.
Haven't tried it in a game yet tho. It feels really similar to what I'm used to, but it has a softer feel and more dwell time.
I like it.

The thing though, is, what's the difference between Flat Earth II, and Big Dipper, or Mercury II or Yinhe 9000 OR 729 SuperFX other than slight differences in tack and speed?

Honestly?
Not sure :D .
I have experience with only about 4 rubbers on the whole, so I don't have much to compare any of them with.
I imagine it is just like you say, in that it varies only a little.
Changing to Earth II medium gave me a little more dwell time than with H2 Neo, but I am still getting used to it. My attacks are safer, but I really had to readjust my pushes and serves because I popped them too high some of the time (the rubber has slightly more catapult).
The surface has 0 tackiness, but it is grippy and I can get just as good spin as before. All in all, it is what I was looking for, but now I will focus on my technique.
;)

It's OK. I can play with it, I can control it, I can generate spin and speed with it. But I don't think I can do any of those things better with it than I can with anything else I've tried.. I certainly won't be buying another sheet. I'd continue to play with it if someone BOUGHT me sheets, but I don't really NEED it..

Interestingly enough.. I had to use an older setup a couple weeks ago because my bag was somewhere inconvenient. This had a sheet of Rakza 7 that was maybe 2 years old and had lots of time on it, had been through 3 or 4 cycles of boosting, and it had shrunk 1/8" all the way around. Hadn't touched it in maybe a year. Yet, I played really well with it that day (maybe because it wasn't windy and the glare was not bad).

RM100 - 200 would get me a brand-new sheet of Rakza 7, MX-P or Rasanter or one of the Blue Combustions, I'd probably find those plenty good enough, better than a used Tenergy. Or I could spend RM40 on a sheet of AK47 Blue. Come to think of it I have several sheets (a sheet of Tornado V5, that sheet of Red Dragon with the black sponge, a sheet of Taiji) I've been wanting to test, they've been sitting around for a long time and will probably have to sit around for a couple more months until the Tenergy deteriorates past the point where I'd like to use it.
