Hi All,
How do you explore the opponent game and then decide your own strategy.

ALSO do someone have some tools/app which you use to analyse the opponent game more accurately OR any good article to read/ reference video.

thanks,

Is it not the right question or too trivial to ask?

best regards.

I highly recommend Table Tennis Tactics for Thinkers by Larry Hodges for a deep dive on this. It's the best I've read on the subject.

Personally, I'm a fan of recording matches and analyzing them. I keep a journal and record tactics that seem effective against various opponents/styles.

If it is a first time opponent and I have no idea of his/her weakness, I would normally try to dominate my opponent on his/her backhand. If my opponent is a defender, I will attack on the defensive side.

From there, I adjust my game. If I have a video, I look for weaknesses and try to exploit.

Enjoy the game. It is a never ending learning experience once you play and keep the ball on that 45 sq ft of space or should I say half of that space.

"vishal01"Strategies & tactics are very important elements of the game.
Watch your opponent’s game style & workout their strong points then keep your returns away from their sweet spots. Cramp your opponent play the ball close to his body.
Keep cool if you win the point great but if you lost it there is always the next point, don’t let your emotions get the better of you.
If your game plan & style of play is superior stick with it if not adapt your game to counter your opponents strong points.
Have plenty of serves & while playing a match never serve the same serve twice in a row.
