Hi all,

What is the best way to remove old layers of water-based glue (TSP Bio Fix/Free Chack etc.) from a rubber? Is this possible in the first place? It was easy back in the day - one would only have to use some kind of organic solvent. But how to remove these new latex glues?

Thanks

On many of the new tensor sponges virtually impossible as the glue soaks in and they are quite fragile. Can still be done on harder traditional sponges if glue layer is thick enough to peel.

Lighter fluid and (light) rubbing.

Keep adding enough layers until it is some 20 or 30 layers thick and at which point you should be able to peel it off in chunks or use goo gone to turn it into a nasty mess and slowly but steadily gently rub it off section by section. Either way it wont be pretty :-P

I see, I think the best solution is to buy a new one

Ordinary sunflower oil and a paper towel, that worked for me
