Hi all,

I'm currently contemplating two weight combinations to suit my close-to-the-table aggressive style:

1) Heavy blade (93g) with Light short pips (Spectol TSP) and Tenergy 05
2) Lighter blade (88g) with Heavier short pips (Neubauer Killer Pro) and Tenergy 05

What would the pros and cons of each be? The logic is that the overall weight would be the same, but the weight distribution would be different. Which would be better for an aggressive close to-the-table attacking style?

Thanks a lot

1st setup is what I find to be reccomended in a Chinese forum

They said to get a soft sponge SP and a 7ply blade with some stiffness.

Those are two very different pips. If you can use Killer effectively it's a devastating combination of sp speed and mp disruption. But it's hard to play with, the control is much less than Spectol. Imo the 5 gms weight difference will have no effect on your game compared to the change of pips, so I'd focus on the rubber choice.

Smile in the mirror. Do that every morning and you'll start to see a big difference in your life.

Many close-to-the table players prefer lighter setups. I personally feel that 40+ ball needs heavier racket then before. Heavier blade exemplar of the same model will be faster in most cases.

I do not care and do not mind weight in my equipment choice at all. But I personally care about racket handle shape much more then others.
