Chopping with 1.8 requires quite a good footwork. It‘s much easier with 1.5 mm and still plenty of spin with the proper technique. ( still using now and then my „Hou racket replica“ )

I seem to remember him playing the maximum sponge.
I've tried this now and it plays much better than the sponge thicknesses below. Because with increasing thickness the S1 doesn't get much faster at all but rather softer which in turn increases the ability of the maximum backspin.

This video is not really useful unless one can understand Chinese but Hou Yinchao shows his paddle.
That Spectol is definitely 1.8mm or more.
That was before Victas took over.
His blade looks brand new also so I am not sure why we can't find it online for sale

Since I am using Spectol 21 (2.15mm) and it has been discontinued, I am going to replace it with Victas S1 2.0mm.
