Amir asked me to rename this thread and add it to the index as he intends to upload his league matches here. I hope that is OK with you, Julian. If not, then send me a PM, please :)

AA, I forgot to ask, might have been asked before: Why did you choose Gergely instead of hard all-wood blades?

Also, I take it that you have been playing with Gergely for a long time?

@yuzuki - i really hate the feeling of slow woods, especially concerning the long pimples, and i need something speedy for my forehand. the fast carbon blade also contributes to a better spin reversal on my backhand. yes, i `ve been playing the gergely for the last 10 years or so ;)

Ah, I would have figured it to be such -- especially that explosive, yet controlled forehand.

Very nice of you to offer advices and league videos for us -- I think there also a couple of other forum members who like using short pip/long pip combinations. :bom:

Your style is very similar to that of Carsten Neubarer, more attack than Solja.
Fabian and Jester have a loop.

Okay can I ask what kind of serves you do? Do you tend to be more aggresive or defensive in the 3rd and 5th ball?

Watching your matches would perhaps tell us?

yes, i will upload the matches of the next season, its just a shame that i didnt record anything from this season because i suffered from a really annoying knee injury (very good advice: never fool around when warming up! :x ) and had the first bad season in 10 years. i decided to play one level under the 2cnd league next year to give myself the better chances of recovering from this injury and will probably resume to play 2cnd league the season after that again.

thats interesting! i`ve never seen carsten nebauer play, any videos around?

serves..hmm...i have a very special fast service that grants me around 3 points per set on average that involves the long pimples. i`m happy with my services in general, a lot of variation is possible when playing two different types od rubbers. whether i`m aggressive or defensive in the 3rd or 5th ball really depends on what i`m facing in that situation, generally i always try to make a direct point when possible, one player described the style as "very destructive" :eye:

If you can share some of your videos, that would be fantastic AA!

I'm also VERY interested in that serve that you mention... please elaborate if you can?

@haggisv - its really difficult to describe... its similar to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PD02s8uTSzw at 7:00 , but its more of a semi topspin motion, flatter and faster..many players have problems raising that service over the net. sometimes i turn the bat in the last moment and thus create the exact opposite effect, so that if played too passively (because he thinks he needs to raise the ball), the ball will go over the table or generally will be high..
