For me too but when I clicked on videos on the left menu strangely the play list loaded for me. Give that a go and good luck with it.

I think it was Mega Block this time. It works very well with the blade DeLuxe Carbon.

I believe they used some kind of Butterfly ball, so not Stiga Perform.

Yes, I am following the findings of that anti. I might try it later :).

I tried the Palio TCT-blade again, this time with Dr Neubauer ABS2 top sheet on the sponge delivered with Spinlab Vortex (red, 1.2 mm, very soft and slow). On FH I use my regular Galaxy Jupiter II. Here is a clip with two sets against an opponent that is VERY used to my gamestyle and anti. Some easy misstakes from me (and from him), some because I was not used to the blade or the anti.

I am waiting for a new blade, a DMS Carbon Deluxe. But the post service is ridiciloulsy slow this time of the year, I have been waiting for a couple of weeks now. At the same time I was offered a free copy of this blade from the generous Charmander defender - thanks! I am also waiting for a new anti, a DMS Spinparasite, that I will put on this soft red sponge :). I have high hopes for this combination.

i think that this combi isnt too fast for you and you seem to cope well with his light loops and you also seem to play safely with it. cant say much about reversal, as he loops lightly most of the time and nearly always (wisely) chops the block instead of looping again. you make the points when you transition to forehand attack and land a decend speed and/or placement. you should improve your forehand loop in terms of speed and the same goes for the backhand. you could also try to twiddle and counter hit the ball with the inverted rubber instead of looping at certain times.

but the main area you should strive to improve is your attack with the slick anti...you need to put more pressure onto the opponent so that he makes more mistakes and also needs to move more, which either makes him do mistakes or makes him give you good opportunities for attacking. so instead of kind of chopping the backspin/ no spin balls forward (which you do safely) try to imagine you are playing a long pimple rubber (which you maybe did back in the days??) and simply push the ball forward with a slightly open angle without any chopping motion...doesnt need to be forceful for a start, but you need a correct motion that you can build upon which later becomes faster once you get safer...you can gladly film your attempts and i will gladly give further advice if you want to! cheers

FH is something I always need to work on :(. I seem to have a little weak base technique, without enough weight transfer (I use more arm than body). Also, at the moment, I am a little slower than usually, have been playing more matches than doing footwork drills :).

About the BH attack, I have been trying your style of attack without much progress. I do not get enough speed (but I have not praticed a lot). And without the deception that aggressive chops give you (initially and against new opponents) I have not felt it worth the effort to learn that stroke. But, with a new and faster blade, and with the harder top sheet of Spinparasite (if I will keep that) I think I may give it a serious try, I would really need that tool as a complement :). I'll report back!

Here is another couple of sets from the same session. First set I played good, my opponent did not. 2nd set got a little disrupted by a rather odd but effective serve :). I kind of lost focus there... 3rd set Instruggled with timing and FH, I got very weak, nothing worked. 4th set I forced myself back inte using FH and it got a little better. But this was pretty far from our best match...

There are a few moments here where you can see the spin reversal on blocks, rather cool. But you can also see the block goes high sometimes.

This opponent is not that used to playing against me (compared to the one in the previous post) so I could force him to more misstakes.

Good tips there, AA!

I really like that backhand attack you've got -- been training on it since first seeing your videos some years ago. Became my bread and butter, punching on the BH with anti/lp like a piston firing out.

I think the BH blaster opens up a lot of opportunities. Otherwise the BH blocking becomes too passive/predictable. Though it looks like the majority of your points come from either the FH kill (appears to be the main goal), or a BH block where the opponent messes up the return. But I play more like AA and really pop the BH hit at them, just using the FH if they get too cute with a return.

Also, do you have any serve tutorials for that one at 5:05 of your last video?

I will start working on that BH-attack,I see great potential there :).

No tutorial for that serve yet, but I made a special clip for that one 8)

That seems to be the case, especially for amateurs. One side is always favored and the other leaves a lot of money on the table! With my own, it was BH dominant coupled with an aversion to using the FH at all -- maybe a block or two. I think for a long time my chicken wing 'forehand' proved to be the more effective choice  playing like pushblocker, but with anti-spin.

I've since really focused on leveraging the forehand side and been doing much better as a result. So much so, in fact, that now people prefer sticking to my BH side! Which works for me since that's the preferred wing. Only thing is, now I have to take advantage of the loose balls given back to me from the LP and be sure to unleash the forehand... which means a lot more movement!! ;( ;( Although if I get the right ball, an attack from the BH can be unexpectedly fast and lead to a number of outright winners. I'm currently using d.tecs OX, yet not sure if I like the faster ball for attacking with or prefer the padded comfort of the antii-spin to absorb the loops with. That's the trade-off I'm looking at now. Overall speed with OX LP or more safety with the anti, at the cost of giving up some speed. Both can be fast, of course... kind of like comparing tenergy to tackiness chop though!

I guess you could simply change your blades to adjust the speed, also. But I'm finding a lot of players are messed up by the d.tec returns rather than the more predictable frictionless returns. I can do well with either one, as I'm finding (mirroring what others see as well) the kill shots are now more important than straight reversal blocks. To me, it's basically like chopping with OX. You win a few points here and there with it, more against some players and less against others... but the FH finish is what really ends the majority of points. Or at least the threat of it needs to be there. Otherwise just dinking with blocks allows the opponent to relax too much. So I've tried to really up the aggression from both wings, which actually results in the blocks working better.
