Does anyone know what are the ingredients of commercial rubber cleaners that are out there these days. I would like to make something that is as gentle as possible for cleaning my rubber. The bulk of the time I just use water but would like to occasionally get additional dirt and grime off. Thanks!

I've seen dish soap recommended in the past. But these days people think that oil from your fingers is GOOD, soap would remove that oil. (In the old days you avoided touching the rubber at all.. and you wanted to remove any oil that made it onto the rubber... how things change.. )

Thanks, and that makes sense about the oil. I do oil my older rubber and it really helps them quite a bit. Extends the life of them.

Simple : few water droplets and clean hands is about all you should need. Never needed the fancy rubber cleaners. I would advise against using foam or sponges or microfibre cloths... just use hands.

I know one person who still uses dish detergent. Just a drop or so, a little bit of water, rub it into the rubber, and rinse with water. Says it keeps the tack from going away. I'd say, give it a try and see if works...

Thanks and the water is my standard. However, the floors where I play get a bit dirty so I thought occasionally hitting them with a mild detergent might help.

There's Simple Green, I suppose.. No idea what it'd do to rubber, of course... Try it on something cheap first.

Iskandar Taib is seemingly unaware that all the items of
-- milk jars,
--- parfume bottles,
-- medical inhalers,
-- nose rags,
-- condoms,
-- chieving gum etc. are not allowed on playing court,
excepting only of correctional glasses. (tanned glasses are forbidden too).

/Be happy/
