I have about 6months of 4hr/week from my 1st custom bat with MarkV. I am looking to try something different for the rubber and finding the choice extra challenging.
My game is mostly close to the table counterattack. I also push/chop quite well and accurate with the MarkV. I find heavy shots far from the table quite difficult atm and can rarely backhand flick. My blade is OFF- i think. Stiga Classic Nostalgic.
So, I am looking for opinions on modern rubbers for attacking allround players.

A few i like the look of include Donic Bluefire and Bluestorm. Rasanter perhaps. Hexer Duro. Stiga Mantra M or Future DNA?
Mostly just names and prices to me, hoping for a little clarity based on my position.

Rakza 7 is a safe bet. Call it the spiritual successor of Mark V if you will.

Tibhar Aurus, Donic Barracuda, Nittaku Fastarc G-1, Joola Xplode are also similar enough that I would say replaceable in Rakza's position.

I've used Mantra M a fair bit recently. I would say similar enough, but not as durable as the ones listed above.

Don't think so much about rubbers, they are more similar than different. IE, the latest Xiom Omega 7's and Stiga DNA's are not "drastically" faster or spinnier than the good Xplode.

Or maybe try something Chinese. Yinhe Big Dipper, perhaps. Or (something I've recently put on my bat) 61 Second Eagle.

I have a reasonably nearby retail store that I should probably support. They have cheap Rakza7, so I'll probably do that.
Next time I'd like to try ProXT or Snipe Focus III, or those two you just mentioned. After Rakza I'm sure I will be a better judge.
I have max Mark V. Would you suggest max Rakza7? I would prob be fine with thinner

If you have a big and powerful loop, you'll benefit from max. If you're more of an allround players, 2.0mm will give you more benefit.

I think you should go with max. Rakza 7 isn't a super powerful hard to control rubber, you've got a normal all wood blade, and the ball's gotten bigger in the last few years. No reason to go down in sponge thickness. I think you should be able to handle max sponge no problem. Thinner sponge, these days, I think, is for specialist use - for pips-out blockers, traditional choppers, for use with balsa blades, etc. There are a LOT of rubbers you can ONLY get in max sponge (no other options).
