Yes, once I got used to Pogo (OX) on the blade, the control was good... However, the same is not the case with the 388D-1 (OX) on this blade...

Trouble Maker is a good control oriented pip, but it's not that "disruptive" except for slowing the pace down a bit. This player has a great forehand and moves very well, almost all of his points were from attacking with that forehand. It works for his style because when the opponents were put off by the pace, he jumped on the ball and moved to use his forehand. You can play Trouble Maker, but you'd better be active like him.

I play with Toublemaker 0,5 on a Victas Koji Matsushita Defensive blade.

The best setup I have had, very easy to block passive and short like the video posted above. Very easy to attack with too. Not the best for chopping but thats not my style anyways.

I dont think OX gives so much more reversal so its worth over 0,5, and 0,5 gives a better touch and more possabilities.

regards
Holy

Hello,

Could someone give me their opinions on LPs used on thick balsa. I'm currently using Dr Neubauer High Technology Plus, quite thick at 13mm. My style is usually passive block off the bounce, push blocker. My BH is Troublemaker OX. The Troublemaker is good control and seems to passive block well but minimal disturbance to opponent. What would be your recommended top 3-5 LPs on a thick balsa like I use to increase trouble for opponent? Also, my blade has no carbon or other fiber layers. Thanks for any advice!

My top 2 suggestions for long pimples for passive blocking would be Dtecs or a worn in sheet of Dornenglanz. It takes about 20 hours of court time to properly wear in a sheet of Dornenglanz. Keeping in mind that all long pimples in the modern area are poor at reversal from passive blocking.

I'm using Yinhe Neptune (0.5mm or maybe thinner sponge) t on my thick Balsa Hinoki Carbon blade (which is around OFF- to OFF)... It's fast, but offers pretty good allround options.. 388D-1 is another I've tried with the same blade - it offered better reversal, but I found it a tad harder to control compared to Neptune, and more difficult to hit with..

I haven't tried Globe 979, DG or Zeitgeist, but I have a feeling these too would work well..

Dornenglanz-worn down - GD Talon National Team and Bomb Talent are for sure good for passive blocking .

Grass D.tecs ,imo,is an overrated ,pricey pip .

Thanks, I ordered a sheet of Bomb Talent. Hopefully it provides more funk than Troublemaker but not too hard to control.

Tm is a pricey good all round pip.No disruption, run off the mill reversal.Do not expèct easy points from the rubber's perfornance .

It was pricey, but I bought it because I saw someone post that it performed like DTECS but was easier to control.
