Can anyone advise the best LP to give most disruption effect playing close to the table. Mainly passive blocks with occasional lifts and flat hits.

Not sure what pip would fit that style I suggest you watch players who play long pips on the forehand, Dickie F-Something is a 2400 long pip forehand guy, or used to be, he was out of Florida, if I recall correctly. I've found Yinhe Neptune .7mm suits all my needs, though it is usually on my backhand side, working toward flipping randomly through points instead of just against service return. Found this demo of a long pip attacker in "practice" but chopper in actual play, but she attacks with long pips on both her forehand and backhand.

In both instances, long pips are red.

And a clip of me playing a tough 1900 inverted looper.

Grass DTecs, Dornenglanz and Donic Piranja Tec OX for deception.
Also TSP P3 alpha R, TSP P1, TSP P2, Butterfly Feint Long 2, Feint-Soft and Feint OX, also Dr.Neubauer Monster Classic are good to attack with.
And none of them give high spin reversal. If mainly for passive blocks there are frictionless antis with spin reversal as good as old frictionless long pips.

That guy kicked my butt, he used p2 on the forehand (ox I believe). Rozena in 1.7 on the backhand (not that he needed it other than for serves.)
