I just glued on my first sheet of LP with 0.5 sponge. I've glued inverted and SP plenty of times but the thin sponge caught me off guard when gluing. I thought I had pressed the bottom well, went to grab my roller, rolled it on, only to find that the bottom wasn't properly aligned. The pips are a little off too, as in they aren't in a perfectly straight line horizontally across. Included some close up pictures in an imgur album below.

Is this going to be a big issue? It's my first long pips rubber so I wouldn't really be able to tell a difference myself.

That should be fine. A small gap above the handle is perfectly legal, and the slight misalignment of the pimple should not affect play.

The slight horizontal misalignment may offer better pips effect. So it may be a blessing in disguise after all. Good job otherwise.

And here I was worrying about consistency issues because of it. I guess I need to switch my mindset now that I'm playing LP haha

Try gluing an OX rubber next (no sponge), that's 10x harder
