Virus 2 is a disruptive long pimple designed for close to the table play, it is similar to dornenglanz and hellfire x. P1R is a classic high grip long pimple designed for mid and long distance chopping. These two rubbers are at opposite ends of the long pimple spectrum.

What do you mean by harmless? Are you referring to wobble/sink/pimple effect. If that's the case then try D'Tecs, Dornenglanz or Leviathian 1a.

Hi charmander

I am also looking for a replacement for the Curl p1r 0.5mm and I have thought about Superwall and Virus 2 (0.5m

Hi!! If you are trying a similar replacement to the beloved P1-R, virus 2 is definitely less effective at chopping with a lot of rotation.Virus 2 in 0.5 is a very good all round pip .Easy to use .The first chop is easy to attack so one needs to keep it as low as possible with good placement.

I have already commented other features in this thread.Due to the dampening sponge you can use an off/ off - blade to try and get some more speed .I suggest limba as the outer ply.

Many people have been using Donic Spike 1 to replace P1r.I suggest getting a hard sponge in 0.5 and try it out on virus .If your game is based on chopping varying the quality of the ball virus 2 is not very effective but if you have an all round game, virus 2 in 0.5 is very good.
Yes, P1V is much less effective than P1-R,I think the key is the sponge.

Rob M is very right on his comments on virus 2 in ox for s close to the table play .However, I prefer DG.
