*This thread assumes you're a right handed player*

A question for all the SP FH, Inverted BH out there, how do you deal if the enemy long (attacking) pushes towards your elbow (in which, your not gonna catch the ball if you play with BH)

Other than pushing it back long,
Do you just try to loop it back with FH while staying in your position, or stretch your legs out to the left and loop?

If I'm understanding your question properly, I would assume this applies to all players, right?

Long, fast pushes to the elbow are a problem for everyone. Regardless of your rubber, you can't play a proper attacking shot from that position. There's a few options:
1) move your feet so you can properly attack it with the backhand
2) move your feet so you can properly attack it with the forehand
How you choose to deal with it depends on what strokes you feel more comfortable playing, what you've practiced more, etc.

You could also use strategies that don't let them push, like topspin/fast no-spin serves (to bypass the pushing rally) or flick receives.

If they're serving long, fast backspin right to your elbow, try starting in a "wrong" position (too far to the left or right of your usual starting position), and then step into your "proper" position once they toss the ball. If they're actively looking for your elbow, their serve won't find it since you changed position after they started their serve. It's a whole different ballgame if they're using illegal serves, though.

Thanks!

I'm currently practicing the "Asian style" FH crouch-type attack, so when the ball is at elbow~middle in front of body, I can still attack it.

The only weakness is this style is less likely to accomplish a directed attack, your more likely to land it in the middle/right-side of your opponents table (from the opponents perspective)

Well, that's at least better than a weak push [GRINNING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]
