Hi everyone
I have been using invertet rubber in my forehand for 20 years, but resently I returned to SP. My style is mostly hitting and blocking with an occasional loop. I like to keep the play slow and spinny with my backhand, and then kill any ball my opponent returns too high with my forehand.

Any good suggestions to what kind of SP would fit my style?
I have been reading Andrews reviews of Pluto and Uranus. Pluto sounded nice, but a sponge in 1,3 mm is probably not enough.

The 651 you're trying might work well. 889 is good for hitting and blocking. 799 is a good hitting pip as well as is Spectol. 802 is a little bit spinnier than those rubbers as is Uranus and 802-40 and 889-2 are a lot spinnier.

Dawei 388B is good if you're used to inverted as you can still create lots of spin on serves and pushes due to the very grippy pips, though you do need to adjust the racket angle more on blocks.

Pluto wasn't that slow with 1.3 but I'd like to try a thicker sponge myself.

Hi Andrew
Thanks for the advice. The 889 sounds like an option. I have tried the
889-2 and it was not that bad at all. But then you mention 799. As far as I can see, it is only available in ox. Is it fast enough without a sponge ?

I've used 799 both with and without sponge but I prefer spinnier short pips myself. Without sponge it will be pretty slow even compared to 1.3-1.5 mm sponge.

889 has harder pips, more like 651, so that might be a good one to try next. 799 and Pluto have soft ("raw") pips so offer more deception and spin variation on blocking but less speed than harder pips like 889, Uranus and 802.
