I must say while fishing or dropping off the table sounds like a good idea, I have problems when I do this. It likely is due to the fact that I play against one player at the club who does this, but he counters at wide angles immediately after the bounce and his shots are often outright winners. I know I need to keep my ball deep so he has less of an angle, but that is much easier said than done. All he really has to do is safe return and wait for a shorter ball.
