Why do anti sheets have to be replaced if you are looking for slickness on the top sheet?

I used my last sheet for 11 years. It just got better and better.
Using a different anti now.

Apparently these new-fangled super-slick antis become less super-slick after just a short while.

Traditional antis start to lose grip and become more frictionless. So your hits would become less reliable as a result and the blocking angle changes.

With frictionless antis... they start to acquire MORE grip from dirt and surface deteriorating. So the blocks have less reversal and in essence they begin acting more like traditional antis.

One becomes the other over time! Just get a friend who uses the style you don't, then swap after a while

Frictionless antis often comes with a dampening sponge. That one can loose its powers (eating speed) after awhile and become less dampening.

I would agree with Def-attack as the same is true for the Dr. Neubauer antis with thick sponge. After some time the rubber will become a little faster depending on how much you play and it might be time to change to a new rubber. I would say it lasts at least as long as Tenergy rubber does. Despite of what Iskandar says (I doubt he ever played frictionless anti but I might be wrong) they do not become less slick after some time, at least not the Dr. N antis I have played (I have tested all of them) and the ABS and ABS2 antis actually become slicker with time.

The most recent antis from DMS become slightly less slippery after a month or so and after about 3-4 months of playing 2-3 times every week at least I feel I need to change.

thanks everyone. want to switch from super block to train for tournaments. might have to pull trigger on new dr n abs 2 and just deal with it. don't want to start ej-ing on anti.

thinking putting medium sponge abs 2 on my joo sae hyuk backhand for close to table blocking

If you want massive spin reversal there are better blades than Joo. Hard, stiff blades, perhaps with carbon (no balsa) are good. But if you don’t have other blades go with the Joo, it’s bot worth buying a blade and a rubber just for trying.
