Just found this at Tabletenista (http://tabletennista.com/2014/8/jan-ove ... -bat-vide/) and I don't think it has been posted here before (?). It is almost 4 years old and I don't know what kind of "standard bat" they are playing with, but it is rather entertaining. Does anyone know a little more about JO's opponnet Marty Hendriksen (Ned)?

I think that the WUTTO events use a rec blade with ATP hard rubber (essentially Valor rubber). I remember Waldner entering one of their events when he happened to be in the U.K. when one was happening. Hendricksen was obviously the local underdog with the crowd on his side :)

The wutto tournaments are played with giant dragon vigor recreational hardbats.

Interesting stuff, this guy plays at the highest level in the provincial (?!) league in Holland (Rega Nijkerk -> http://reganijkerk.nl/index.php/competitie). Although he would be within the top 5% of the competition players in Holland I wouldn't expect him to beat Waldner. My guess would be that he either trained like hell or he plays a similar blade for his regular setup. (we have strange folks as well...)

JO made a lot of unforced errors, esp on topspin, so it's more like someone with ~zero practice vs. someone who at least knows what shots not to take.

There are quite a few players on the wutto circuit who train a lot specifically for the wutto tournaments. They take the wutto tournaments very seriously and are definitely playing to win and not just because it's fun to play with a wutto bat for a change. The guy who played and beat waldner is known to be very fanatic, perhaps a bit too much every now and then.

These are his stats: http://www.ttkaart.nl/Spelers/2928034/H ... en-M-Marty

He plays at a decent level, used to play at the lowest national level, now at the highest regional level. Most of the best wutto players in Holland play around this level in the regular league matches.
