I don't think that they do the videos anymore, the final match would have been interesting to see. Shawn has been running it for a while now, I haven't seen Mike there in a while.

Yes, I actually have a lot of tournaments coming up! This Sunday, I'm playing in U-2000, U-2400 and Open in Rockford. Then, next weekend I'm playing U-1875, U-2100 and Over-40 in Highland, IN. In November, I'm going to the Schaumburg tournament and playing the three events I can play there. So, a lot of opportunities to get my rating back up! How about you? You going to any? There's the giant round robin in Shorewood in December but I can't play in it this year.

Oh, I forgot one...trying to defend my title at Spin tonight! :D

Hi Doug,

The only tournament I have coming up soon is one of Mitch Seidenfeld's tournies in the Twin Cities in MN. I went to it last year, and had a lot of fun (and success--took 1st on one event and 2nd in another). There are some good players there--Cory Eider, Thor Truelson, and several 2000-2100 guys, and also a few pretty good (consistent!) upper 1900 guys, who don't make a lot of mistakes against pips. I'll be entering the O-40, the U-2000, the Open, and maybe the U-2200. To enter 4 events there costs only $55. The trophies are rather unique. My son Brian will be going with me.

Good luck at your upcoming tournaments! I hope to get down to the Shorewood club sometime soon. Heck, I might even enter the DD just for kicks!

That would be awesome if you could make it Jim! There's a giant round robin coming up in Shorewood on December 8. I won't be able to play in it, but maybe you can come down.
