Rockphish, I play at Dadali sport center, and actually it cannot be called a club because there are only 4 to 6 people, and we use 2 tables (we use 3 tables if we have guests). I play table tennis only for fun and health, and I have no desire to join any tournament. The owner of the sport center (developer of the real estate where the sport center is located) who is playing with us has another sport center in another of his real estate housing, and there he organizes a tournament for table tennis from time to time.
Regarding the person you mentioned, I do not know him.
Now for the blade manufacturer, one of my friend (he has several trophies) introduced me to a manufacturer with brand name Puga. My friend is a Hallmark enthusiast and he has made about 4 blades and he is very happy with the performance. If you want to know more about Puga, you can go to visit the website.

Hi Aeoliah, I'm playing for fun and health as well. I recently heard about Puga as well a few others local blade makers. I have a couple of friends who are using their blade. I happened to see one in person in December, but the blade was not a beauty to look at. I saw lots of their blades photos on their Facebook and still not convinced. I guess the factory made blades, and out of the country hand made blade makers already ruined my appetite.

However, regardless of that I still plan to buy one at least to try.

Actually I bought one Schlager clone from Puga as a gift for a friend in Jakarta, but after testing, he still prefers his Gergely. I paid Rp.325.000,- for the blade.

i found local blade makers churning out too many types at a short of time, too many variable to work with, they could do much better if concentrating on the quality/finishing instead.

for what they're asking i'd rather get something from yinhe.

unless one have specific requirements (custom order) to try out some ideas.

i received a defence blade from one of the local makers today, for the same amount as yinhe 980 defence blade, i felt cheated by the blade... i just hope it plays good to justify the purchase...
